The Challenge

Known Source, an emerging retail brand, approached OLLYWOOD to design and build their very first inline retail store located in one of London’s busiest shopping destinations—Westfield Stratford. The goal was to create a visually striking yet functional space that would reflect their brand ethos and showcase their diverse collection of unique, high-end pieces from luxury labels like North Face and Prada.

Key objectives included:

The Solution

In collaboration with Simon from Rock & Poppins, OLLYWOOD transformed Known Source’s vision into a retail space that stands out, utilizing unique materials and custom features. The focus was on creating a balance between aesthetics and functionality, ensuring every detail contributed to a cohesive brand experience.

Key design elements included:

  • Bespoke cash desk with matching cork pillars, offering an eye-catching yet functional focal point for customer interaction.
  • A stunning hanging VM (Visual Merchandising) centrepiece, drawing the eyes upwards and enhancing the spatial experience.
  • Freestanding rails, crafted to guide customer flow naturally through the store while maximizing product visibility.
  • Creative use of light boxes and wall graphics, integrating brand storytelling with innovative lighting techniques to set a mood.
  • 3D logo symbols paired with custom black-stain timber batten panels, providing a bold, modern aesthetic that reflects the brand’s urban appeal.

The Result

The project not only delivered on the client’s vision but exceeded their expectations. The new Known Source retail store quickly became a showcase piece, attracting attention from both shoppers and retail industry insiders alike. The shop’s design harmonizes visual impact with practical retail considerations, creating a space that encourages customer exploration and engagement.
